Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a calm, empathetic, and highly organised Administrative Assistant to support the Coroners Office during a period of transition. This temporary role offers a meaningful opportunity to serve the community with dignity and professionalism.
Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for bereaved families, Funeral Directors, Hospitals, and other key stakeholders.
* Answering and fielding sensitive telephone calls and emails with care and discretion.
* Provide clear, compassionate guidance while maintaining professional boundaries.
* Manage administrative tasks with precision, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
* Support the wider team with time-critical duties in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrate proven customer service experience, especially in emotionally sensitive settings.
* Utilise strong telephone and admin skills, with a calm and reassuring communication style.
* Listen attentively, ask the right questions, and respond appropriately.
* Confidently manage conflicting priorities and stay composed under pressure.
* Commit to confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism.

Hours: 37 hours/week
Contract: Admin & Clerical 14 Sept - ongoing
Salary: £12.21 PAYE / £15.95 Umbrella
