Job Summary
The Asphalt Programme Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring asphalt surfacing programmes to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. The role acts as a central link between operations, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient programme delivery and minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning & Coordination
· Monitor the programme of works making sure all live jobs are showing on the programme and allocated to the correct date.
· Allocate work on the programme to each gang in accordance with distance of job to gang, inductions and client requests
· Making sure any gaps for work are being communicated to CM's & Sales so they can speak to clients in the hope of filling the space.
· Allocating supervision on the programme.
· Update the programme accordingly with any cancellations or changes and making sure these updates are clearly communicated with the operations team.
· Making sure future works with confirmed material orders are communicated to the material supplier so the material order is moved accordingly.
· Working with the Logistics Coordinators when jobs change or cancel to make sure the correct information is being reflected correctly on the daily diary.
Operational Support
Liaise with site teams, supervisors, and contractors to confirm work readiness
Support emergency and reactive works as required
· Monitoring labour both internal and external, making sure external resource is secured in advance for busy periods.
· Communicating with external labour in advance of not being required to avoid any potential charges or breakdown in relationship.
· Assisting the Logistics Coordinators with inputting data on the daily diary and sending out the daily messages to internal/external gangs.
· Working alongside CM's making sure all site meetings are highlighted on the programme.
· Allocating supervision on the programme.
· Make sure each element of the job is highlighted on the programme (Sprayers, Planers, Sweepers etc.)
Stakeholder & Contractor Liaison
Act as a key point of contact between contractors and internal teams
Communicate programme changes clearly and in a timely manner
Quality, Health & Safety
Ensure works comply with specifications, standards, and contractual requirements
Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
Reporting & Administration
Track performance against programme targets and KPIs
Prepare progress reports, forecasts, and completion summaries
Maintain accurate programme records, documentation, and permits
· Update Reflow with supervisors daily tasks.
· Thoroughly checking and approving invoices for labour and other elements (planers & sweepers etc.)
