We are seeking a
Facilities Engineer to
assist in the day-to-day coordination of scheduled plant maintenance, address emergency repairs and breakdowns and maintain our maintenance, inspection and safety records. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of the infrastructure and ensuring that the Facilities are safe and well-functioning. You will be required to work on your own judgment and decisions, communicate internally and externally, as well as manage contractors daily activities.
This role is temporary for a period of 6 months.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES.
Under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, this role entails:
* Coordinating contractors for the maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities
* Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
* Supervising, directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling
* Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with relevant legislation.
* Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
* Coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility where necessary.
* Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences.
* Maintaining associated equipment and maintenance records.
* Maintaining the approved contractors database, ensuring all required documentation is received and filed.
* Keeping staff safe from maintenance activities taking place during office hours.
* Familiar with Risk Assessments-Method Statements, and Permits to Work.
