Main Responsibilities:
The HR Assistant will work closely with the line manager as part of the HR team to provide effective
administrative and operational support across all HR functions. The role will be responsible for assisting
with the day-to-day activities of the HR department, ensuring smooth operations, accurate records
keeping, and timely delivery of HR services. The role will also involve progressively taking ownership of routine
administrative and coordination tasks to maintain high standards within the department.

* CIPD Level 5 qualified or NQF Level 6 qualified in HR or a relevant field
* Competent understanding of UK Employment Law
* 2+ years' experience in a similar HR administrative role
* The ideal candidate will be based at the MH Head Office in Nottingham for at least three days per week, with flexibility for hybrid working and willingness to attend the office more frequently when required.
* Good numeracy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR databases
* Confident and professional attitude in providing people support services
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* Adept at handling sensitive personnel matters
* Excellent telephone manner and customer service attitude
* Reliable, flexible, and proactive in learning new skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude
* Resilient, able to work calmly under pressure, and meet deadlines
* Pro-active and collaborative
* Awareness of mental health and wellbeing support practices, especially in high-stress contexts
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and ability to uphold safeguarding policies
* Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in HR practices
* Working knowledge of GDPR and handling sensitive employee data
* Experience with digital HR platforms and AI tools
* Alignment with the organisation's mission and values, with a passion for humanitarian or charitable work
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Experience leading organisational personnel development and CPD
* [Lead] Investigation Officer experience in dealing with workplace disputes
* Experience in leading or influencing change, including developing HR strategies
* Understanding of regulatory bodies governing UK charities
