Nine Twenty Highland are delighted to be partnering with a leading cosmetics manufacturer as they expand with a brand-new facility in Invergordon. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of operations, shaping the business from the ground up and driving its next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
As General Manager, you’ll lead the scale-up of an ambitious cosmetics business, overseeing manufacturing, laboratory operations, as well as commercial performance and business development. You’ll establish the operational framework, build efficient workflows, and lead a talented team to deliver high-quality products for both in-house and third-party brands. Operations span cosmetics R&D, manufacturing, and production. The site is located in Invergordon, with strong connections to the Inverness area and the wider Highlands manufacturing community. This is a fast-evolving organisation where responsibilities will evolve over the next 18 months, offering the right candidate the opportunity to grow with the business as new leadership layers are added.

Key Responsibilities
* Scale the business to meet increasing production volumes and third-party sales targets.
* Drive growth by shaping commercial strategy, supporting new business development, and identifying efficiency gains.
* Establish clear processes and workflows between R&D, manufacturing, and production functions.
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of around 20 — empowering department heads and operatives to work independently as the business grows.
* Oversee operational performance, budgets, and financial controls with a focus on P&L accountability and long-term sustainability.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, and industry standards, embedding best practice throughout the organisation.
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to align site operations with overall group strategy.
What you’ll bring
* Proven track record in manufacturing leadership, ideally within FMCG, beauty, or other process industries.
* Strong operational, commercial, and people management skills.
* Experienced in P&L management, cost control, and scaling operations.
* Hands-on and adaptable, able to work strategically while staying close to daily operations.
* Confident communicator and motivator who builds trust and delivers results.
* Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and Health & Safety systems would be advantageous.
