As a member of our Complex Care Support Worker team, you will be offered ad hoc hours to meet the needs of our Service Users and Tenants to:
* Provide good quality care and support to adults based on their needs through a person-centred approach
* Accompany adults to their life-skills sessions such as music, art and sensory sessions
* Assist them in every aspect of their daily lives, including personal care
* Provide a safe and supportive environment that enables individuals to feel valued, reach their potential and nurture their aspirations
* Maintain appropriate records and written reports
* Plan trips and activities
The ideal Complex Care Support Worker will:
* Have an appreciation of the needs of adults with learning disabilities
* Be considerate, calm, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, non-judgmental and professional
* Be flexible as variable shifts include long days, weekends, sleep-ins, and awake nights as allocated on an ad-hoc basis.
* Have an understanding of, or experience with, autism, dementia and epilepsy, although not essential
* Know specialist equipment, although not essential, as person handling training will be provided
* Have sound interpersonal skills
* Possess good verbal and written communication skills, plus basic IT and report writing skills
* Hold a Health & Social Care NVQ2 or Level 2 Diploma Qualification or be willing to undertake the Care Certificate
* Hold a driving licence due to our rural location and the requirement to drive to appointments/activities with service users, using a manual pool car.
