About the role
Join the Housing Property Team Energy Team and help us shape safer, smarter, low carbon homes for the future. As our Building Surveyor Energy you will play key role in undertaking, and analysing building surveys for energy schemes, enabling us to plan and deliver long-term energy improvement schemes investment programmes and maximise external grant funding. Improving homes and ensure compliance with Decent Homes, Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards and Net Zero Low Carbon targes and other regulatory standards.
We are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm in the field of energy and knowledge of energy efficiency within public sector housing and retrofit projects.
* Your role is to carry building surveys to assess our housing portfolio
* Collecting accurate data on building conditions, components and lifecycle information for energy and retrofit schemes.
* Support the development of our asset management strategy and investment planning
* To provide specialist advice on low carbon heating and analysis of current and future low carbon installations.
* Assist in maintaining and updating an asset database using relevant software including Lifespan and QL and energy software systems.
* Liaise with residents, contractors and colleagues to ensure efficient access and communication during surveys.
* Assist with delivery of energy schemes, documentation and handovers.
* Have experience in energy surveys and projects.
* Experience of on-site inspections, to monitor property handovers of energy measures and schemes and compliance certification.
Team dynamics: The Energy Team has a Home Energy Manager supported by a Building Surveyor, Home Energy Officer and the Technical Energy Officer.
You will report to the Home Energy Manager and will work with the wider supportive and collaborative Property Services Team Delivering the Capital Investment Programme.

Bury 6 Knowsley Place, hybrid working 2 days in the office, working in the community, on site and home.
- What you are looking for in candidates (key strengths and experience)
* Experience in Energy retrofit schemes preferably in social housing.
* Experience of handovers ands snagging in Energy measures.
* Knowledge of housing standards, Decent Homes criteria.
* Familiarity with asset management and survey software
* Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills
* Good communication, interpersonal skills and written skills to deliver instructions
* Qualification related fields in Retrofit, Domestic Energy Assessor, Building surveying (HNS/HND/Degree or equivalent).
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis carrying out evening and weekend appointments to help us ensure our housing team is able to meet the needs of residents with limited daytime availability.
Salary grade 12 £41,771- £44,075
