Overview
Registered Nurse - Surgery Receiving - Ward 7 at NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will be responsible for assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care to ensure high quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder may supervise registered and/or unregistered staff and student nurses. Duties may vary with the ward/department and patient dependency.
Responsibilities
* Assess care needs and develop programmes of care; implement and evaluate these programmes to deliver high quality care to patients.
* Carry out relevant forms of care without direct supervision; demonstrate procedures to and supervise staff and students where required.
* Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other staff within the ward/department to promote best practice in patient care.
* In the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, provide cover to ensure effective operation of the ward/department.
* Ward location: University Hospital Monklands, Ward 7.
Additional Information
* Contract type: Fixed Term until January 2027; Full time, 37 hours.
* Driving licence: If required for the vacancy, must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
* Secondment: If a post has temporary funding and an NHS Lanarkshire employee wishes to apply, they may be considered for a secondment with written approval from their line manager.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work using own initiative.
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Location
This role will be based in Ward 7 within University Hospital Monklands. Applicants shortlisted may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
