The Role:
Sir Harold Hillier Gardens (SHHG) is an esteemed arboretum spanning 180 acres, with a diverse collection of over 42,000 trees and shrubs, including oaks, camellias, magnolias, and rhododendrons. Established in 1977 by Sir Harold Hillier as a charitable trust, with Hampshire County Council as the sole trustee, the Gardens aim to preserve Sir Harold's legacy by nurturing and enhancing the collection for public benefit. Over recent years, visitor numbers and memberships have grown significantly, leading to an expanded team to meet the needs of visitors and develop the internationally renowned collection.
We are currently seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining the facilities, ensuring site security, and complying with health and safety standards to provide a safe, clean, and secure environment for staff and visitors. The Facilities Assistant will work alongside colleagues across the week, ensuring facilities are available onsite daily.
This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, and adaptability to meet the organisation's changing needs. Additional hours may be necessary to cover holidays, sickness, or special events.
