Overview
This is a full‑time permanent post working in the College of Health and Social Sciences, and specifically the Sociology, Criminology, and Policing Subject Group. This post will focus on teaching and supporting learners on the Policing programmes. UWE currently works in partnership with Avon and Somerset Constabulary to develop an integrated PCDA (Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship) programme, Diploma in Police Studies and DHEP (Degree Holder Entry Programme) which provides training and education for approximately 200 new police constables across 4 cohorts each year. You will be working predominantly on the PCDA programme.
Responsibilities
* Teach and support learners in the Policing programmes, including the PCDA, Diploma in Police Studies, and DHEP.
* Possibly supervise undergraduate project and placement students.
* Provide pastoral and academic care of students through the academic and personal tutor (APT) role on both the Policing and Criminology programmes.
* Contribute to recruitment and outreach activities, such as Open Days during the term.

The successful candidate will reflect these qualities, be collegiate, flexible and make a positive contribution to our team. An expectation that all academic staff have or work towards their post‑grad higher education, which will be facilitated by the university.

You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
