Your role
Cover supervisors support schools during critical periods by assisting with general teaching duties when regular staff are absent. Roles may vary in duration, with many temporary positions potentially leading to permanent teaching roles. As a Hays Cover Supervisor, you can select your working days and decline roles that do not suit you. You may work full-time, part-time, or flexibly.
Responsibilities include:
* Supervising and managing classrooms in the absence of teachers, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
* Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and materials across various subjects and grade levels.
* Engaging students in activities, answering questions, and providing support during lessons.
* Maintaining discipline and promoting a positive classroom atmosphere.
* Reporting on students' behaviour, progress, and concerns to regular teachers.
Requirements
* A minimum of 30 days UK experience as a cover supervisor in classroom settings within the last 2 years.
* Previous experience working with students or in a school environment is advantageous.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
* The ability to follow instructions, manage classroom dynamics, and handle unexpected situations with flexibility.
