Salary: £33,822.41 - £36,305.76
Contract: 36 hours per week over 39 weeks per year
We are seeking to appoint an Early Learning and Childcare Equity and Excellence Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support quality experiences for children and families in areas of deprivation. You will be part of the Early Learning and Childcare team within a funded provider and will lead and contribute to quality early interventions and undertake research to improve outcomes for children.
Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to quality early interventions for children and families.
* Undertake research to improve outcomes for children.
* Collaborate with the ELC team to support learning and development in Dumfries and Galloway.
* Promote equity, inclusion and close the attainment gap for children in areas of deprivation.
Qualifications
* BA in Childhood Practice, Professional Development Award, Certificate/Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, or other relevant advanced qualification, or be working towards it.
* Minimum of 4 years experience working in Early Learning and Childcare.
* Must hold a qualification enabling registration with The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Practitioner of Day Care Children's Services (without conditions). See SSSC website for details.
Regulatory & Checks
* This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to offer.
* Applicants who have resided outside the UK in the last 5 years will require a police record check in addition to Disclosure Scotland.
Requirements
* A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. If disability precludes holding a driving licence, consideration will be given to arrangements for alternative transport.
