About Afta Thought
Afta Thought has been delivering powerful, drama-based workplace training for over 30 years. We use professional actors and skilled facilitators to create bespoke sessions that are engaging, thought-provoking, and truly memorable. We work with organisations across sectors, including universities, housing associations, councils, the NHS, and the police, to inspire meaningful change in the workplace.
The Opportunity
Step into the role of Business Development Manager with the dynamic Afta Thought team at Calico Enterprise.
Here, you’ll do more than grow a business, you’ll help create new opportunities, build meaningful partnerships, and drive change through powerful storytelling.
Each day brings new challenges: from engaging with clients at networking events, leading impactful marketing campaigns, mentoring a dedicated team, to creating relationships that make a real difference.

What We’re Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
* Evidence of relevant experience in sales, business development, marketing, or service growth.
* Experience managing a sales pipeline and building strong client, funder, or partner relationships.
* Experience developing strategic plans to grow a business or service.
* Experience managing or contributing to marketing activities (including social media and email campaigns).
* Ability to support or manage others effectively and with kindness.
* Ability to work with financial information (budgets and reports).
* Strong communication skills, adapting style to suit different people and situations.
* Experience writing proposals, tender submissions, or bids.
* Experience working within the creative, training, or social enterprise sectors.
* Knowledge of using Canva and Mailchimp for marketing.
* Understanding of inclusive marketing or communication approaches.
