We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with strong insurance experience to oversee financial control and reporting within our claims function. This is a key role supporting financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and process improvement while working closely with Operational, Actuarial, and Data teams.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for financial reporting, governance, and controls across insurance claims activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review UK statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
* Manage monthly close for claims and related functions
* Oversee insurance accounting including premiums, recoveries, and commissions
* Ensure accurate claims estimates and recovery accounting
* Support external audit processes through to completion
* Reconcile claims recoverables and resolve discrepancies
* Partner with Actuarial and Reinsurance teams to ensure data alignment
* Lead regulatory reporting including FCA submissions
* Oversee claims payable processes and ensure timely payments
* Drive process improvement, automation, and control enhancements
About You
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), ideally Big 4 trained
* Strong insurance experience is essential, ideally within claims or financial control
* Experience in statutory reporting, reinsurance accounting, and audit management
* Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements
* Confident stakeholder manager with strong communication skills
* Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
* Exposure to insurance systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
* Knowledge of Solvency II or wider insurance regulatory reporting
* Experience in shared service or outsourced claims environments
* Exposure to finance transformation initiatives and/or data tools (e.g. SQL)
