Your Role
As a member of the Acute Therapies Verification and Validation engineering team, you will support product verification, validation, and compliance testing activities on electrical and mechanical medical device components and systems. Your expertise will be applied across all stages of product development, from prototypes to final systems, including planning, developing, executing, and validating test methods, and creating documentation. You will interface with R&D, Project Management, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop comprehensive electromechanical test solutions, including strategies, plans, methods, protocols, and reports for verification of requirements on components and systems.
* Lead small teams in planning and executing Test Engineering projects, constructing detailed project schedules, and collaborating with various departments.
* Ensure quality in product development through analysis, testing, and providing timely feedback on test results to cross-functional teams.
* Reverse engineer designs, review requirements, and understand design features to assess test impact and scope.
* Design test cases, including methodology, setups, materials, equipment, procedures, and acceptance criteria based on standards.
* Perform functional testing of mechanical assemblies, electrical circuits, and systems.
* Participate actively in team meetings and design reviews.
* Support hardware and software teams by developing tests, collecting data, and presenting results.
* Design and qualify hardware and software testing tools and fixtures.
* Review electrical and mechanical designs to develop test methods ensuring coverage of requirements.
* Lead small teams through testing projects for electromechanical components and systems.
* Understand medical compliance standards, evaluate risks, and develop test procedures to meet requirements.
* Lead test execution, including onsite testing at third-party labs.
* Develop feasibility and characterization testing for design concepts and prototypes.
What You Will Bring
* Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8+ years of experience in test engineering.
* Experience with medical device systems and component-level verification and validation testing.
* Strong troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis, and resourcefulness.
* Knowledge of electrical/mechanical engineering, ability to read schematics and drawings.
* Experience with electrical/mechanical lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, etc.).
* Hands-on approach to electromechanical testing and fault diagnosis.
* Ability to create detailed documentation and records.
* Effective cross-functional team operation and communication skills.
* Self-starter with ownership, initiative, and ability to manage ambiguity.
Vantive supports flexible work arrangements, including a minimum of 3 days onsite per week, to foster collaboration and support our mission.
Compensation for this role ranges from $104,000 to $143,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and location, and may include discretionary bonuses. For more details on pay and benefits, please consult with the recruiter.
