About the Employer
I am both the employer and service user and have a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder, anorexia nervosa, complex PTSD, and suffer from anxiety and depression. I am extremely isolated and spend most time at home. I need a personal assistant to assist and support me with my independence and access to wider community, social activities, keeping me occupied and motivated. The PA role will provide friendship, companionship, support, help build confidence, and encourage me to try new things and experiences away from the family home. The PA will provide support around mealtimes, with distractions to prevent higher anxiety, and assist with appointments, provide prompts and reminders, assist with cleaning and general housework. The PA will also allow my parents a break from their caring role and enable me to develop my social support network. The PA will be proactive in identifying suitable activities and venues, be engaged in my choices, and support me in social settings and appointments.
