Job Description
The Senior Group Accountant plays a crucial role in our finance department, overseeing consolidated financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position works collaboratively with other finance team members and business units to maintain the integrity of financial records and improve financial processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple entities within the group
2. Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards
3. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit issues
4. Implement and maintain robust internal controls across the group's financial operations
5. Provide technical accounting guidance to junior staff and business partners
6. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
7. Prepare financial analysis and commentary for management reporting
8. Support the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
9. Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation of finance initiatives
10. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations
Qualifications
Essential
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior role
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS)
5. Experience with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany accounting
6. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
7. Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and management reporting
8. Knowledge of internal controls and risk management
Highly Desirable
1. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
2. Experience in a multinational organization
3. Knowledge of tax compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
4. Experience with financial systems implementation or improvement projects
5. Background in a similar industry to our organization
6. Experience with business intelligence tools and financial data visualization
7. Knowledge of process automation tools
