We are currently supporting a Local Authority in the Essex area with the recruitment of an experienced Environmental Health Officer for an initial 3-month contract assignment.
This role sits within the Private Sector Housing function and will focus primarily on complaints-driven work, enforcement activity, and housing standards compliance.
The successful candidate will have experience dealing with:
* Private Sector Housing complaints
* HMO inspections and enforcement
* Serving statutory notices
* Regulatory compliance and case management
* Statutory nuisance investigations (desirable)
* Planning and licensing consultation responses (desirable)
The position requires an officer who can independently manage a varied caseload, provide professional advice, and ensure compliance with relevant Environmental Health legislation and local authority policy.
Requirements
* Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
* Previous local authority Environmental Health experience
* Strong enforcement and investigative experience
* Ability to manage complaints through to resolution
