Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Occupational Therapist specialising in Neuro‑Rehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a B7 Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital on a fulltime permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
• Work clinically to support the assessment and delivery of rehabilitation to patients, and support their discharge and complex case management.
• Have a role in the senior leadership team on the unit supporting service development and improvements and providing leadership to the Occupational Therapists in the team.
• Coordinate and monitor the activity and caseload demands on the unit, provide evidence‑based training within the MDT and support junior therapists to ensure high quality care.
• Provide support to the OT team through supervision, appraisal and teaching, and support the Therapy Clinical Lead with service provision and development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating cognition, vision and spasticity
* In depth knowledge of the mental capacity act and complex discharge planning
* Excellent communication skills
* Skills in neurological management, rehabilitation and multidisciplinary working
* Experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS
* Strong leadership skills are essential to complement your advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills
