About The Role
The Energy Manager operates at the site level within the technical department, directly reporting to the Technical Manager. The role collaborates cross-functionally with various site teams and integrates into the overall energy management strategy of the company. Core internal stakeholders include the plant manager, technical manager, asset manager, project engineers, process & manufacturing excellence teams, maintenance & production teams. External stakeholders involve suppliers, contractors, energy consultants, regulatory authorities, and auditors.
The primary purpose is to drive energy efficiency, reduce site energy consumption, and support the company’s sustainability goals by identifying and implementing energy-saving initiatives. This role ensures compliance with energy-related regulations and contributes to cost savings through optimized energy use. The mission is to reduce the site’s energy intensity and CO2 footprint by implementing best practices, energy-saving projects, and innovative solutions while maintaining compliance with standards.

It is pivotal in transforming energy management at the site level, requiring innovative thinking and leadership to implement new initiatives.
The Energy Manager will be central to operational transformation, with ambitious targets for annual energy intensity reduction. The role involves improving energy efficiency and influencing cultural and operational change. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, instilling a culture of continuous energy improvement across departments and engaging operators, technicians, and management.
Given the emphasis on cost-saving and operational efficiency, this role is critical for delivering immediate energy savings and long-term sustainability. The candidate should be adept at balancing quick wins with strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Developing a multi-year plan for energy & GHG reduction
2. Monitoring of the site energy consumption and analyzing the data
3. Identifying energy-saving opportunities & leading energy projects
4. Maintaining compliance with energy regulations and building a foundation for energy management system based on ISO 50001
5. Training and engaging operators, technicians, and internal stakeholders such as engineering, process, and procurement teams
6. Regular reporting on energy performance and KPIs
Communication Requirements
* Daily updates with maintenance and process teams
* Monthly reviews with site management and technical team
* Collaboration with global energy team and external stakeholders
* Interaction with suppliers, contractors, auditors, and regulators as needed
About You
Technical Energy Expertise
Deep understanding of energy management systems, industrial energy use, and relevant technologies such as HVAC, motors, and energy metering. Knowledge of renewable energy sources and how energy flows in production processes is essential.
Project Management Skills
Proven ability to lead energy-saving projects from concept to completion, managing budgets, resources, and risks to ensure targeted reductions.
Analytical Thinking
Strong skills in analyzing energy data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities, with proficiency in energy monitoring systems.
Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge
Familiarity with local energy regulations, ISO 50001 standards, and experience in audit preparations and compliance documentation.
Required Experience
* 3-5 years in engineering, maintenance, process, or energy management roles within manufacturing or industrial sectors. Experience in energy reduction projects and managing energy systems is vital. Industry experience in food production or energy-intensive sectors is advantageous.
* Experience in managing and delivering energy projects with measurable outcomes.
* Hands-on experience in developing and implementing multi-year energy and CO2 reduction plans, with knowledge of SBTi and renewable energy integration.
Additional Skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluency in English, and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
