Overview
35 hours per week (35hrs 5 over 7). Reporting to the Sport Development & Participation Manager, you will oversee and manage Sport Development programmes including the Sports Camps offered by North Lanarkshire Council. You will liaise with venue staff, parents and clubs to ensure the smooth operation and pathways offered within our sport development programmes.
You will work closely with external agencies, apply for external funding, manage the coaching infrastructure within Sport Development and oversee any sport development activity/programme/initiative that Sport Development have responsibility for.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage Sport Development programmes including Sports Camps.
* Liaise with venue staff, parents and clubs to ensure smooth operation and pathways within sport development programmes.
* Collaborate with external agencies and apply for external funding.
* Manage the coaching infrastructure within Sport Development and oversee sport development activity/programmes/initiatives under Sport Development responsibility.
Qualifications and experience
* Substantial experience of sports development at a local and regional level with the ability to attract events to North Lanarkshire at all levels.
* Hold a SVQ5, Degree or equivalent in a sports related discipline.
* Extensive experience in delivering sports development programmes and initiatives; excellent knowledge and understanding of sports development across multiple disciplines.
* Extensive experience in managing staff, large events, income generation and participation targets; experience with media and communication packages; ability to prepare operational and statistical reports for senior management.
Other requirements and location
* You will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
