An opportunity has arisen for three Lecturer ESOL positions on a casual basis to deliver high quality learning at all levels across County Durham. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The DurhamLearn ESOL Programme Area delivers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), plus a number of other vocationally based programmes, to learners whose first language is not English across County Durham. The post will involve extensive travel between centres with the possibility of online, evening and weekend working. This may involve long periods of standing, manual handling, lifting, carrying and setting up of equipment as well as some lone working before and after classes. We work out of community centres across County Durham, sometimes in remote locations, and use of own transport is highly desirable. The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) or minimum Level 5 Equivalent Teaching qualification with ESOL Specialism. GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths, or equivalent You will have recent experience of teaching towards the ESOL National Curriculum and be able to support learners with differing needs and delivering both informal and regulated qualifications from Pre-Entry Level up to Level 2. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria. If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
