OBJECTIVE:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in accordance with safety protocols and production schedules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Perform basic and complex mechanical repairs to extrusion, molding, and auxiliary equipment.
* Read and comprehend mechanical prints to install new equipment and to diagnose and repair existing equipment.
* Perform installation and repair on hydraulic systems, using technical manuals and prints.
* Install and repair pneumatics on equipment and building systems.
* Perform basic and complex repairs (electrical and electronic) to extrusion and molding equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
* Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment including but limited to, inspection, lubrication and repair of problems identified.
* Installs and repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots and programmable controllers.
* Complete daily work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
* Mentor subordinate technicians in a professional manner to assist them in achieving level A technician status.
* Responsible for hazardous waste handling and water sampling in accordance with company guidelines and OSHA regulations.
* Must be able to set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
* Participates in Emergency Response Team by responding to emergencies in accordance with established emergency response procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The work environment is not temperature controlled and the employee may be exposed to high heat work conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to moderate noise levels is probable.
TRAVEL:
* Semi frequent short distance, and infrequent long distant travel may be required.
* Travel and interaction between Meteor Creative facilities may be required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
* Associate degree, trade school, or apprenticeship is .
* Must understand maintenance and reliabilities’ role in manufacturing.
* Applicants must have a solid mechanical background and at least 3 years’ experience working with electrical and programmable logic controls.
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
* Use of Allen Bradley PLC’s, VFD’s, software. B&R PLC and interface is a plus!
* Understand control, safety systems and various connectivity protocols.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
