Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum. Use a range of phonics strategies to support early reading and writing development. Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Monitor and assess pupil progress using formative and summative methods. Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress meetings and reports. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers. Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing. Contribute to the wider school life, including assemblies, trips, and extracurricular activities. Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Experience Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in KS1. Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks. Proven ability to raise standards and support pupil progress. Experience with phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds). Desirable Skills & Experience Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection. Familiarity with restorative behaviour approaches or emotion coaching. Evidence of ongoing professional development.
