We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual to recruit into a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist role for Paediatric Palliative Care.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work closely with the multi professional team members to enhance service delivery. This is the first post of its kind at King’s, made possible by funding from the True Colours Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new service which will create a cultural shift at King’s. The post holder will be instrumental in developing a coordinated approach to paediatric palliative care which will enhance the quality of life of both patients and their families. As an individual who is new to this role you will be well supported by your peers within the division and offered training and support to develop the skills required for this role. This role will enable you to gain extensive new skills in leadership and people management within the clinical environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Paediatric Clinical Care Nurse Specialist you will manage a caseload of patients with palliative care needs and participate in providing a service ensuring patients and their families are fully informed and supported.
This exciting opportunity requires a confident pioneering, dynamic children’s nurse to assist in service development and adhere to evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines.
The successful post-holder will build on an existing relationship with the Evelina Paediatric Palliative Care team to link with other palliative care providers and primary care to facilitate the care of this group of people in the community.
