About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and proactive Finance Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in shaping financial strategy and supporting high-quality decision-making across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who thrives on building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and turning complex financial data into meaningful insight. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure financial sustainability, value for money, and alignment with organisational priorities.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Building strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, providing both support and constructive challenge
* Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring for designated service areas
* Producing clear, insightful financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making
* Managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial systems, reporting, and governance
* Taking ownership of your portfolio, using initiative to proactively identify risks and opportunities
* Supporting business cases, funding bids, and financial modelling to drive organisational outcomes
* Promoting strong financial governance and building financial capability across teams through training and guidance
* Collaborating across the Finance Directorate as a committed team player
What We’re Looking For
* Substantial experience delivering high-quality financial advice in a large, complex organisation
* Experience working within Local Authority environments or similarly complex organisations would be advantageous
* Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* Proven ability to prioritise workload, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing demands
* Experience improving processes, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and value for money
* A proactive mindset, with the confidence to take ownership and use initiative
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
* Experience of supporting large-scale capital projects and programmes
* Full CCAB qualification or equivalent and evidence of continuing professional development
