Qualified Social Worker, Family Help Practice Manager
Pay rate £39 per hour
Vitalis is recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to work as a Family Help Practice Manager in Wigan.
As an Early Family Help Practice Manager within the Children & Families Department, you will support the Service Manager with operational delivery and strategy implementation. Your responsibilities will include overseeing performance, human resources, and health and safety within your service areas. You will lead and manage one or two neighborhood Early Family Help Teams, depending on locality size and demographics.
Working within a multi-agency framework and following the principles of ‘Progress with Unity’, you will:
1. Support and develop the delivery of whole age family help in line with Wigan’s early help framework.
2. Coach, manage, supervise, and support a team of family help workers to engage children and families through an asset-based approach, aiming for sustainable change aligned with the Strengthening Families Practice model.
3. Maintain operational oversight and provide quality casework supervision and assurance to ensure high-quality practice compliant with service standards.
4. Promote awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing among children, young people, and families to reduce stigma.
5. Contribute to reducing health inequalities by working in partnership to support, empower, and remove barriers to good health.
6. Develop and deliver Continuous Professional Development for the workforce.
7. Participate in thematic areas and deputize for the Service Manager in their absence. You will liaise with all CYPS branches, the wider Local Authority, and other agencies involved in early help support.
