The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Health & Social Care to join our passionate and high-performing team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As part of this role, you will be teaching on a variety of study programmes. This includes: Level 1, 2 and 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care and our T-Level in Health programme which features three distinctive pathways (Adult Nursing, Mental Health and Midwifery). Therefore, a candidate with a background in a clinical role (such as Nursing or Midwifery), or a specialism in Biology would be preferred for this role however, applications from all Health & Social Care backgrounds are welcome.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation, or a talented aspiring trainee teacher looking for support with their teaching qualification.

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Teaching within the Health and Social Care team on a range of programmes in Health & Social Care, delivering effective learning for students
2. Be up to date, plan and prepare and high-quality teaching as required by your Line Manager
3. Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources
4. Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress
5. Maintain comprehensive, up to date, student/subject records and provide information, as requested

What We Are Looking For:

6. 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
7. Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification
8. Recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment)
9. A higher degree or advanced qualification
