The individual will be based in our Newcastle office but will have a client base across the Northeast.
Responsibilities and expectations
* Provide strategic advice and act as a bridge between finance teams and the board of directors / business owner.
* Develop bespoke reporting solutions by understanding what information a business needs.
* Identify improvements in clients’ processes and controls and implement solutions to strengthen the control environment.
* Work with clients across the Northeast from the Newcastle office.
Qualifications and attributes
* Individual who has worked at manager level (or equivalent) previously and is comfortable both speaking with and challenging clients and their senior management.
* Commercially minded and understands the challenges SMEs face in today’s business environment.
* Passion for technology and transformation with exposure to different organisations.
* Self-starter who enjoys solving problems and can work independently when required.
* Dynamically adaptable and comfortable with a varied workload.
* Dedicated, ready to learn and willing to develop skillset to cover each of our four pillars.
* Experience preparing or reviewing management accounts and ability to prepare these for a portfolio of clients.
* Experience reviewing or preparing IFRS financial statements and working under that framework.
* Experience speaking with a board of directors and senior client team members.
* Curious mindset and passion for understanding the drivers of a business.
* Comfortable leading a presentation and speaking confidently to audiences.
* Willingness to travel within the Northeast / North Yorkshire and spend time at client premises.
* Ability to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations and demonstrate ambition and progression in career.
* Chartered Accountant (preferably ACA or ACCA).
Desirable attributes
* Experience working with or implementing Business Central.
* Power BI experience as a user or report developer.
* Power Apps experience including implementing automation in a business with Power Automate.
* Involvement in previous business transformation projects involving finance systems or processes and controls.
* Practice-trained with some industry experience.
