Planning Officer (Enforcement)
Salary: £34,434 - £39,152 per annum
Hours & Contract: 37 hours per week, Home working contract, Permanent position.
About the Role
You will be a key member of the Development Management Team, ensuring confidence in the planning system is maintained. Your responsibilities include delivering high‑quality services, advising on correct procedures and legislation, driving continuous improvement, and assisting in the delivery of existing planned growth as well as long‑term planning for the area.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out the full duties of the post in accordance with legislative requirements and the council’s statutory duties, policies and priorities.
* Advise on correct procedures and legislation, and drive continuous improvement.
* Assist in the delivery of existing planned growth and plan for the long‑term future of the area.
* Analyse and interpret data, prepare reports and briefings, take part in and lead topic groups, and manage projects.
* Maintain confidence in the planning system through effective enforcement and development management.
Requirements
* Educated to degree level or willing to commence study to achieve an RTPI recognised qualification.
* Excellent written, verbal and numeracy communication skills.
* Highly organised and motivated, with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
* Experience in development management at local authority level is an advantage.
