Job Title: AV Warehouse Manager – Event Production

Summary
The AV Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations that support live event production projects across the UK and Europe. This role ensures that audio, video, lighting, staging, rigging, and related technical equipment are properly prepared, tested, maintained, transported, and returned. The successful candidate will manage warehouse workflows, maintain inventory accuracy, supervise technical personnel, and collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure event equipment is delivered and returned efficiently while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations, reviewing upcoming projects and coordinating workload priorities.
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, tested, prepared, packed, and ready for collection or delivery in accordance with project requirements.
- Oversee the return process for equipment, including inspection, cleaning, testing, repair assessment, restoration of technical settings, and return-to-stock procedures.
- Coordinate the preparation and testing of complete event production systems, including audio, video, lighting, staging, rigging, scenic elements, LED video systems, networked control systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Diagnose, document, and repair faulty equipment where possible, or coordinate manufacturer and third-party service providers to minimize asset downtime.
- Manage inventory control processes, including barcode tracking, stock updates, quarantining damaged equipment, and maintaining accurate records within the Flex rental management system.
- Monitor project requirements and coordinate cross-hired equipment, ensuring timely receipt, tracking, and return to avoid additional charges.
- Conduct scheduled stock audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Oversee warehouse organization, storage layouts, and process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including risk assessments, fire safety inspections, accident reporting, and equipment testing requirements.
- Supervise routine electronics testing, including PAT Testing/2391 compliance, and ensure adherence to LOLER guidelines for lifting, rigging, and truss-related equipment.
- Manage vehicle loading plans, monitor safe weight distribution practices, coordinate delivery schedules, and oversee warehouse transport logistics.
- Lead, schedule, train, and support warehouse technicians, temporary personnel, and freelance crew members during peak operational periods.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of operational procedures, warehouse documentation, and job preparation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within a live event production, corporate AV, touring theatre, or event warehouse environment.
- Strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, staging, and event production equipment.
- Experience managing warehouse operations, inventory systems, equipment preparation processes, and logistics activities.
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, or coordinate technical teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Hands-on experience performing equipment maintenance, electronics troubleshooting, basic soldering, and physical repairs to staging components, scenic elements, and transport cases.
- Working knowledge of professional event production technologies, including d&b audiotechnik, Yamaha, L-Acoustics, Robe, Avolites, and Blackmagic Design systems.
- Strong understanding of staging systems, truss structures, rigging fundamentals, safe manual handling practices, and warehouse safety procedures.
- Clean UK driving licence.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferences
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a senior warehouse technician position with leadership responsibilities.
- Forklift Counterbalance Certificate.
- PAT Testing/2391 qualification.
- Experience supporting large-scale live events, touring productions, or corporate event environments.
- Experience implementing warehouse process improvements and operational efficiencies.
