East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust are now recruiting Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers for William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, and Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury.
The majority of positions are likely to be within our Surgical, Medical and Admission wards as well as the Emergency Department. Full-time and part-time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) are available but nursing is carried out 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year, so we do require full flexibility from you.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Holds GCSE A-C or level 2 equivalent in Maths and English
* Completed Care Certificate
* Holds a level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* Knowledge of care and related procedures, skill in clinical observations, knowledge of relevant legislation; short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties, completion of a competency-based workbook
Clinical Skills and Experience
* Experience of working with people ideally in front line patient care
* Basic computer/keyboard skills
* Previous experience as an HCSW in an acute hospital
Governance
* Adheres to Trust policies
* Will comply with the Data Protection Act, CNORIS, Caldicott Guidelines and local policies regarding confidentiality and access to medical records.
* Act on the responsibilities placed upon them under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to ensure that the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and employees.
