Instructional Designer - AWE Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire Salary: Up to £41,000 DOE plus Benefits Hours of Work: 0745-1630 (1615 on Friday) OR 0800-1715 (1700 on Friday) - Inclusive of 9-day working fortnight

Role overview:
As an Instructional Designer at EMCOR UK, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and delivering a service within our large scale account for AWE. You will be responsible for the development of quality blended training programmes to support the learning needs of EMCOR UK employees, our customer and relevant third parties operating across the contract. You will have previous experience in similar roles and managing an LMS. A strong working knowledge and competence of using Adobe applications including demonstrable experience in using software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Captivate. Knowledge of various learning theories and able to demonstrate regular application of those theories. Practiced building and implementing assessments. You will be supporting the Training Manager, operations and compliance teams to analyse data and identify training needs within teams. Also, design and deliver train the trainer sessions for SMEs and operational managers to assist in the delivery of good learning.
What you’ll do:
1. Liaise with SMEs (technical writers, technical SME’s, customer representatives) to break down complex processes and procedures, breaking into learning that can be easily contextualised in day-to-day operations and clarifying responsible parties involved in component parts.
2. Develop role-based training according to research on core systems and processes as researched with SMEs.
3. Creating training resources that ensure complex processes can be followed precisely, even when the process may not be completed routinely by an individual.
4. Create interactive learning content to improve learner engagement and retention; making use of e-learning, video, PowerPoint, face to face, virtual classrooms and other training media.
5. Build and implement assessment criteria utilising the skill sets of SMEs on site to ensure knowledge and skill retention.
6. Develop guidelines for training creation to support other departments in the creation of higher quality training (EHS, Quality and Compliance, Operations).
7. Supporting on the development of a wider learning strategy to support all staff on the contract while also working to influence and support the customer’s learning strategy.
8. Maintain appropriate records to ensure training meets customer and regulatory standards and remains contemporaneous.
9. Collaborate with EMCOR UK and the customer to develop best practice principles and share knowledge beyond the account.
10. Regular audit training portfolio to ensure training materials are up to date. Promoting continuous system improvements and good practice.

Who you’ll be:
11. Working knowledge of storyboarding to build digital content. Understanding of adult learning, curriculum/instructional design, psychology.
12. A patient, resilient and "customer first" manner, being able to adapt and prioritise to provide successful outcomes.
13. Build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of the organisation.
14. Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and design based.
15. Drive for continuous improvement, enthusiastic and conscientious; with a team player attitude.
