Essential criteria
* Senior Medical/Clinical Leadership - Senior level medical or clinical experience gained in either a medical, nursing or allied health professional discipline with a strong service delivery background and a demonstrable track record of delivering quality improvement at a strategic level
* Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
* Prior Board experience and a clear understanding of the distinction between executive and non-executive contributions
* An understanding of public service values and accountability
* Links to the area and a general understanding of the local and health needs of the community
* Knowledge and exposure to delivering improvements in equality and diversity within organisations
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Degree educated and / or professional registered qualification / or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills gained though senior level experience

* Ability to work as an effective member of the Board and to contribute to a continued patient focused culture
* Good understanding of risk management and finance, budgeting and control
* Demonstrable commitment to the Trust's values and the principles of the NHS
