Brightwork are looking for a Store & Cutting Room Assistant to work within a small family business in Inverness. This is a brilliant role if you have some food related experience and wish to learn on the job.
Your Time at Work
You will be part of a small dynamic team, supporting the full operation.
- Contributing to the accurate collating, compiling and dispatch of customer orders to agreed schedules.
- Cutting cheese, vacuum packing, making up orders and stock control.
- Always ensuring that allocated duties are carried out efficiently and effectively and that timekeeping and other internal stipulations are consistently adhered to.
- Contributing to effective teamwork within the cutting/dispatch department and constructive interaction with personnel from other departments.
- Continued conformance with all internal Company procedures and parameters including those for forecasting, control, traceability, quality control, maintenance of product, replenishment of stock
- Contributing to the efficiency of all distribution activities and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all areas.
- Identify and bring to the attention of a partner any areas of concern in internal operations or opportunities for improvement in all cutting room and cheese stores activities.
- Contribute to the production of accurate records on stock levels and other pertinent information for referral to a Partner.
- To carry out all other reasonable instructions emanating from the Partners.
Our Perfect Worker
Contributing to the effective operation of the cutting department including stock control compliance with Hygiene, Environmental, H & S obligations, HACCP and hygiene knowledge, attention to detail is a requirement.
The ideal candidate will:
- Maintain a basic knowledge and understanding of the individual characteristics, preservation and storage requirements of the cheeses produced and stocked.
- Comply with all relevant health & safety and food handling rules established and issued by the Company.
Key Information and Benefits
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7am-4pm
(30 minute unpaid lunch) Other breaks will be paid.
This role could be long term for the right candidate and we also welcome applications from candidates who can reach the location but have no experience but willing to learn and show the right attributes.
