The Client

Hannah is a lady in her 30’s who suffered a brain injury in 2020 which has left her with a significant visual impairment, compromised coordination in both fine and gross motor skills and increased fatigue. Hannah needs some occasional help with hands-on personal care although help is generally required in a supportive capacity in this area.

Hannah lives at home with her husband and their dog who is very much ‘one of the family’. She is a bubbly lady with a great sense of humour, enjoying banter with those close to her and has a naturally gregarious and mischievous personality. Candidates will need to have a natural sense of fun and zest for life to keep up with Hannah’s enthusiasm for living life to the full.

Hannah requires support in every area of her activities of daily living including personal care, domestic organisation (washing/cleaning/cooking), mealtimes, mobilising safely, driving, scheduling her timetable and activities, using electronic devices, accessing the community, and caring for her dog.

Hobbies & Interests

Hannah likes to be busy and enjoys being out and about in the community accessing leisure and recreational facilities, going shopping, for coffee with friends and spending time with her family, especially her young daughter. Hannah likes to present herself well; she has a particular interest in fashion and likes to have her nails manicured and painted regularly. She likes to make sure her home is cosy and comfortable.

Hannah also loves to go out in the evenings to bowling or bingo, going for day’s out as well as enjoying short breaks and holidays within the UK and abroad. Candidates must hold a full, clean, manual driving licence and be happy to drive Hannah’s vehicle.

Hannah is very easily influenced by the opinions and thoughts of others and can suffer from low mood; therefore, it is the expectation that candidates always uphold their professional boundaries and positive reinforcement strategies whilst working with her.

Candidates should have the following skills:

experience of being a senior Support Worker or managing a team
excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
motivational skills in creating a positive atmosphere on challenging days where her mood can get low.
be an ‘creative thinker’ who can identify new recreational and leisure interests, which are suitable, and risk assessed prior to taking Hannah.
experience of working with clients with sustained brain injury would be helpful, although full training will be given.
experience in working in a personal family home would be an advantage.
full, clean, manual UK driving licence and be happy to drive the Client’s vehicle.
flexibility to accompany Hannah on short breaks and holidays.
ability to build relationships with the family and MDT, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
willingness to assist with personal care.
If you are interested in a position with Hannah and feel you have the skills, experience, enthusiasm and sense of adventure to provide support to her, please submit your CV in the first instance with a note of the hours of work you are interested in each week.

To Apply

If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for HR4CM, please do not hesitate to apply.

*Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.
