Health Care Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible Healthcare Assistant to join our established team on Chartwell Ward. The role involves providing care and support to our younger adult in-patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring inpatient admission. Patience and a commitment to meeting the needs of individuals with mental health problems are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver patient-focused care promoting independence.
2. Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, carers, and external contacts.
3. Support patients and their carers appropriately.
4. Encourage patient involvement in therapeutic activities.
5. Perform physical health checks and document findings accurately.
6. Undertake delegated tasks from nurses or healthcare professionals.
7. Participate in de-escalation and restraint training as required.
8. Provide compassionate care, especially when patients are distressed.
Qualifications and Development
Opportunities to undertake NVQ and Healthcare Worker Certificate training are available. Flexibility in working patterns and a commitment to self-development are required.
