Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ in Oral Health Care Level 3: Dental Nursing or equivalent
* Registration with the General Dental Council
* Formal managerial qualification or demonstrable experience
* Post-qualification in Conscious Sedation
Desirable criteria
* Experience in delivering better Oral Health and applying Fluoride varnish
Skills
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of Community Dental Services
* Ability to lead a team
* Ability to act on own initiative
* Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure
* Thorough knowledge of policies relevant to dentistry, including COSHH, HTM01-05, IR(ME)R 2018, IRR2017
* Strong communication skills
* Good computer literacy and familiarity with common I.T. systems
* Knowledge of local and national issues related to Dental Care Professionals
* Ability to plan and organise work effectively
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
* Willingness to develop skills and undertake further training
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience at a Band 5 level in a Team Leader role within Salaried Dental Services or equivalent
* Experience caring for Special Care and Paediatric patients
* Experience working with patients of all ages with additional needs and challenging behaviour
* Understanding of Clinical Governance and audit processes
* Experience with recruitment processes
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
