Overview
Senior Planner responsible for leading planning on major civil infrastructure projects. Based in the Wokingham office, you will join the Regional Civils division to lead planning on a pivotal new project: the main works of the Wokingham Distributor Road/A34 and Oxfordshire. You will push boundaries, influence major civil projects, and grow your expertise across some of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure schemes.
What you'll be doing
* Ensure that the programme content is functionally compliant with planning procedures and guidance.
* Identify planning scope, major constraints, contract requirements, and factors affecting the programme.
* Collaboratively develop and agree on a strategic and optimized sequence and methodology to implement the most efficient design, procurement, and construction strategy for successful delivery.
* Produce and document comprehensive planning deliverables (programmes, planning philosophy, presentations, reports) and develop the Tender Programme and supporting information with precision and strategic insight.
* At the contract stage, produce, manage, and maintain the Contract Programme in alignment with planning procedures and in collaboration with the Planning/Project Lead to optimize planning elements.
* Display and evaluate project critical paths, advise the project team of results and corrective actions, and manage baselines and change control as appropriate.
* Manage labour, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet objectives while minimizing costs and delays.
* Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve contract-related issues.
* Provide strategic planning oversight and mentorship, developing and implementing intricate scheduling techniques and guiding less experienced planners.
* Produce project data and KPIs to track progress, identify deviations, and support data-driven project improvements.
What we're looking for
* Significant experience of planning services, ideally within construction.
* Knowledge of planning techniques and planning toolsets.
* Understanding of tender documents, contracts, and specifications.
* Experience with various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring.
