About the role
Our Group Finance Manager will play a key role in assisting with our group reporting and will drive financial controls across the business area. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technical accountant to gain broad exposure to group finances in a fast-paced growing business. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our office in Chorley.
Responsibilities
* Support the GFC in driving financial controls across the group, standardising and developing group-wide processes and reporting
* Manage the Ipsum Utilities monthly results, budget, and forecast, working with cost centre managers
* Prepare accounting policies and produce a central repository for all policies
* Assist with management of loan facilities and required reporting
* Become the in-house expert on tax matters such as VAT, employment taxes, CIS, and DRC
* Create a consolidated balance sheet reporting model for easier review of key items
* Develop the group function to centralise key tasks like fixed assets and PAYE
* Assist with finance restructuring exercises, including acquisitions and fair value accounting
* Provide technical advice to finance team members
* Mentor junior finance staff on accountancy best practices
* Support treasury functions, including payment approvals, credit cards, and expense reviews
* Assist with HMRC and Companies House filings
About you
This role is ideal for someone ACA or ACCA qualified, with experience in audit or accountancy practice. We value ambition, motivation, and leadership qualities.
