Cyber Security Analyst
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Frimley
Duration: 6 months
Hourly Rate: 63.21 PAYE or £85.40 Umbrella
Working arrangements: 2.5 days on site per week
Role Purpose
The Principal Engineer – Product Security will act as a key point of contact for security and information risk within the Product Security Engineering (PSyE) team. The role ensures that submarine systems are designed, delivered, and supported securely throughout their lifecycle and in line with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert advice on product security and information risk to project teams and stakeholders.
2. Assess systems and architectures to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and appropriate security controls.
3. Apply recognised risk management and secure development practices.
4. Support the creation of Product Security strategies, policies, and guidance.
5. Present risks and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Manage multiple workstreams and represent Product Security at project and design reviews.
7. Mentor and support junior engineers within the Product Security team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
8. Strong understanding of information and product security principles and risk management frameworks - A minimum of 5 years experience.
9. Been involved in the delivery of new IT projects,
10. Experience applying security concepts within defence, maritime, or complex engineering environments.
11. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
12. Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
13. Commitment to professional development and industry good practice.
Qualifications
14. Degree (or equivalent qualification and experience such as CISSP Certification ) in a relevant STEM or Information Security field.
15. Holds Chartered Cyber Professional or former NCSC CCP SIRA accreditation (or ability to achieve).
16. Membership of a professional engineering or security institution (preferred).
