Job Summary:
Plans, organizes and directs all aspects of the financial department for Bristol Hospital Multi-Specialty Group - physician practice group for Bristol Hospital & Health Care Group - including the development/administration of policies on finance, accounting, insurance, internal controls, budget, auditing, payroll, benefits. In addition, develops the short and long term financial plan for BHMSG.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Directs month-end close process ensuring close completion within established time-frame for the multi-specialty group.
Develops and implements financial policies and procedures for BHMSG and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies, including reporting requirements and tax records.
Establish a BHMSG plan of control in the form of a formal budget program, effectively monitor and measure the financial performance.
Serve as a liaison to physicians and office managers regarding finance related matters and financial performance.
Develop plans to improve the financial performance of each location.
Work with the insurance contracting team to complete discussions and negotiations of the contracts.
Provide education and guidance to the organization leaders regarding financial matters.
Coordinate reimbursement of invoices for vendors and to physicians with corporate accounts payable.
Oversee payroll activities with the corporate department.
Participate in professional development activities, and maintains professional affiliation.
Perform special projects as requested by the Controller and the Executive Director of the Medical Group
Perform related work as required.
QualificationsEducational / Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance or related field. Master's degree in finance preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years of fiscal management experience including three (3) years in a health care related organization.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two (2) years of fiscal management. CPA designation preferred.
State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements:

Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements:
General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Hospital.
Special Requirements:
Proficient in P.C. applications and spreadsheet development and analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Extended sitting, together with occasional bending, reaching and stooping.
Work Environment:
Normal office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation.
Cognitive Requirements:
Excellent problem solving/analytical ability. Good skill in explaining complex financial reports and budget matters.
