DevelopPolicies,Procedures,GuidanceandassistServiceAreaManagementinthedevelopmentofstrategichealthandsafetysystemstoenabletheServiceAreastocomplywithlegislativeandstatutoryrequirements.
Assist,adviseandsupporttheCorporateDirectorsandHeadsofServicethroughspecialistprofessionalknowledgetoensurethatworkactivitiesareundertakeninasafemannerinaccordancewithCountyCouncilPolicyandlegislativerequirements.EncouragethemaintenanceofapositivehealthandsafetyculturewithintheServiceAreas.
CarryoutauditsandinspectionsinaccordancewithCouncilPolicies,theServiceAreaHealthandSafetySystemsand/orasdirectedbytheServiceAreaManagementTeamorSafetyForum.ProvidingwrittenrecommendationstoassistManagersindeterminingreasonablypracticablesolutions.
InvestigateandreportonaccidentsorincidentsinaccordancewithCouncilPolicyandLegislativerequirementsand/orwheredirectedbytheServiceAreaManagementTeam,SafetyForumsandtheInsurance&LiabilitySection.
ProducereportstoenableaccidentandincidenttrendstobemonitoredandmanagedwithintheServiceAreas.
Assistandliaiseinthedevelopment,co-ordinationanddeliveryofbothin-houseandexternalhealthandsafetytrainingprogrammes.
Toattendhealthandsafetyliaisonmeetings,bothinternallyandwithexternalhealthandsafetygroupsasagreedwiththeHeadsofServiceand/orProfessionalLeadWorkforce&OrganisationDevelopment.
