Circet requires multiple Low Voltage Lineworkers in Northern Ireland. This work is nationwide and long-term, working within our Power Division.
The Low Voltage Linesperson will be a dedicated member of the project team, adhering to procedures, focused on producing the best quality service, being highly productive, and mindful of costs.
Reporting to their Site Supervisor, Low Voltage Lineworkers have a responsibility to build and maintain the Low Voltage network and carry out their duties according to the issued instructions and to the approved NIEN specifications, complying with all safety legislation and industry best practices.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic, team-based environment. The role involves carrying out maintenance and renewal of the overhead line equipment and associated power supply systems to meet the division's needs and requirements.
The linesmen must cooperate with the chargehand and site supervisor and observe all precautions indicated by them. They must carry out all instructions precisely.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure all works comply with current and future health and safety legislation, relevant standards, and procedures.
2. Interface with chargehand, site supervision, and customer representatives.
3. Interface with client representatives and customers.
4. Ensure all allocated work pack documentation is completed correctly, recorded, and submitted within the relevant timeframes.
5. Provide technical information within their roles and responsibilities.
6. Report near misses and good catches in a timely manner.
7. Work at height on poles and towers safely and professionally, utilising MEWPs when required.
8. Carry out maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of overhead lines as directed.
9. Utilise all necessary equipment for working on the Overhead Lines network as detailed in the OHL manual.
10. Be responsible when working on the customer’s property.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
1. Current driver’s license.
2. Current NIEN Authorization.
3. Current IPAF accreditation.
4. Pole Top Rescue certificate.
5. Manual Handling certificate.
6. City and Guilds Linesperson qualification or equivalent.
7. Minimum of four years proven experience in the role.
8. A strong understanding of project health and safety requirements.
9. High attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work within a dynamic team and deliver results.
12. Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Health & Safety Compliance:
1. Monitor site practices to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, including the company H&S Policy, to minimize accidents and fines.
2. Identify training needs and coordinate with the HSEQ Department to arrange necessary training courses.
