Commis Chef
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Salary: £26,936 per annum (based on a 40-hour contract) + share of service charge and tips
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days from 7 (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays) – no split shifts
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about food and ready to take the next step in your culinary career? We’re looking for a Commis Chef to join a talented kitchen team delivering high-quality meals in a busy, professional environment.
The Role
You’ll be working closely with a highly experienced Head Chef, preparing and cooking fresh ingredients to a consistently high standard. The role involves producing food for all areas of the hotel, with a strong focus on a premium branded steakhouse restaurant.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting in food preparation and service
* Ensuring food is cooked and presented to brand standards
* Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
* Supporting the wider kitchen team in day-to-day operations
* Contributing to a positive and professional working environment
What We’re Looking For
* Some previous experience in a similar kitchen role is desirable
* Passion for cooking and delivering exceptional dishes
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to learn and grow within the role
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
