Deputy Inventory Manager
Hybrid (The successful candidate must be within a commutable distance of our Heathrow Depot)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum plus bonus

About the role
As the Deputy Inventory Manager for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will assist with the inventory planning, control, and optimisation across our network. This role combines people leadership, procurement efficiency, and sustainability initiatives with advanced Excel and analytics expertise.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Inventory Control & Planning
* Oversee inventory management across multiple sites
* Manage slow-moving and redundant stock processes
* Lead PO approvals, invoice checklist reviews, and consolidated purchase orders.
* Deliver accurate stock value, spend reporting, and forecasting.
* Manage standard stock consumables forecasting and JIT processes.
Team & People Management
* Assist with the line management of the Inventory & Specials Team
* Help to create a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Operations, and Specials teams to align stock availability with demand.
* Monitor and resolve supply chain issues across both Far East and UK supply routes
* Maximise value from supplier spend transfers and recycled stock to reduce procurement costs.
Analytics & Reporting
* Develop advanced Excel-based models for forecasting, demand planning, and spend analysis.
* Produce monthly dashboards, performance reviews, and actionable insights
* Track and report KPIs including supplier lead times, standard and specials stock holding, warranty claims, and spend efficiency.
* Provide analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, margin improvements, and sustainability gains.
Sustainability & Continuous Improvement
* Maximise internal supply chain efficiency
* Lead projects to align inventory practices with the organisation's sustainability
* Champion procurement efficiency, implementing best practices across Specials and Standard Stock.
* Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve JIT procurement, and optimise working capital.

Qualifications and experience required.
* Advanced Excel expertise: pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/macros, and advanced formulas for scenario modelling and reporting.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* Experience in forecasting, demand planning, and supply chain analytics.
* Proven track record of process improvement, procurement efficiency, and waste reduction.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
* 5+ years' experience in inventory, supply chain, or procurement management.
* Experience in managing inventory processes across multiple sites.
* Strong record of delivering process improvements using analytics.
* Background in healthcare, distribution, or fast-moving goods (preferred).
* Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline (desirable).
