Morgan Stanley is seeking a Financial Reporting Associate to join their Financial Reporting Team in Glasgow.
The Financial Reporting Team collaborates with Client Facing Account Managers and fund accountants to prepare annual statutory accounts and information requested by auditors. The role requires excellent communication, accounting skills, and a solid understanding of financial statements within the financial services industry.
The Associate will report to the Financial Reporting Manager, preparing financial statements under US GAAP/IFRS and handling regulatory reporting for hedge funds. The position involves supporting timely deliverables for interim and annual audits and requires strong knowledge of accounting standards such as US GAAP and IFRS, along with numeracy skills.
This subsidiary of Morgan Stanley manages over $600 billion of hedge fund assets, offering comprehensive fund administration services through a proprietary global technology platform. The team in Glasgow is part of a network of over 1,300 professionals worldwide.
Principal Duties
1. Support the timely delivery of financial statements to hedge fund clients, ensuring compliance with US GAAP/IFRS for audits and interim reports.
2. Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and notes.
3. Assist auditors by providing backup data and ensuring smooth audit processes.
4. Meet all reporting deadlines.
5. Adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
Skill Requirements
1. Proficiency in preparing financial statements under US GAAP/IFRS.
2. Ability to multi-task, identify, and escalate issues promptly.
3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Knowledge of securities, derivatives, and fixed income products.
5. Client-focused with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Background Requirements
1. Qualified accountant with ACCA/ICAS or relevant professional degree.
2. 2-3 years of experience in an accounting firm, asset management, or hedge fund administration is preferred.
