Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical/Electronics, Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our client’s growing company. The successful candidate will be based predominantly at various sites throughout the UK. There are opportunities to work with overseas clients. Travel to client sites may require early starts, late finishes, and overnight stays, but you will be home for the weekend. Travel costs and additional working hours will be in line with company policy.
Primary Duties:
* Undertake system commissioning on client sites, addressing concerns arising from the commissioning process.
* Test communications and conduct end-to-end testing.
* Provide technical support to clients and address customer-specific issues.
* Support Installation Technicians and Service Engineers in resolving in-house issues.
* Advise Design Engineers on commissioning strategies and plans.
* Compile reports and documentation promptly as directed.
* Ensure compliance with QA and SHE policies, supporting updates as needed.
* Train less experienced engineers in relevant disciplines.
Secondary Duties:
* Calibrate and repair systems at client sites.
* Attend company and department meetings.
* Participate in relevant training courses.
* Support training activities for colleagues and clients.
* Perform other duties within your skill-set as directed.
Essential Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commissioning and servicing equipment on client sites.
* At least 2 years’ experience working independently.
* HNC / HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
* Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and advise clients.
* Knowledge of PLC controllers and pressure control systems.
* Computer literacy, including MS and Linux systems.
* Fault-finding skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Full driving license (max 3 points, no disqualifications).
Desirable Skills:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Technician in the gas industry.
