Quality & Assurance
Location
Based in Birmingham – the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region, which covers a complex urban environment and includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel, Interchange Station and the crossing of three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Responsibilities
* Apply BBV Golden Rules and be proactive in terms of Health and Safety when visiting site or at the office.
* Carry out regular Quality Surveillances to ensure good practice and ITP requirements are applied on and off-site, and report to the Quality Team.
* Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Processes in the sublot.
* Monitor compliance with the IPTAN Way (BBV Integrated Management System) via internal surveillances.
* Perform external surveillance of the Supply Chain to review their assurance process.
* Participate in Site Progress Meetings.
Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
* Assist the Quality Engineers in the review of ITPs.
* Carry out site inspections independently of the Delivery Team where identified in the ITP, including Witness and Hold Points.
* Carry out Quality Surveillances to ensure ITPs are being followed on site and records are produced and stored in the Project Library contemporaneously.
* Assist the Quality Engineers in the review of Material Acceptance Records (MAR).
* Monitor the production of site records in the Quality Digital Tool and support the closure of records to facilitate the progressive handover and assurance processes.
* Raise any situation of nonconformity witnessed on or off-site to the Quality Engineers as soon as practically possible.
* Support the progression and closure of NCRs to achieve the project Line of Site objectives.
* Participate in Root Cause Analysis and report on causes of failure.
* Report on Quality KPI.
* Promote BBV’s Right First-Time culture by developing, sharing, and presenting Lessons Learned, Toolbox Talks, Quality Bulletins.
* Assist the Delivery Team during the inspections for finishing trials, benchmarks, and other mock-ups.
* Build a good and collaborative relationship with all stakeholders, including the NEC Supervisors.
Qualifications
* Experience of Major Civil Engineering projects.
* Knowledge and experience of working to UK and International Standards, and industry Codes of Practice.
* Inspection subject matter expertise and proven track record in site and factory inspections, with extensive experience in the inspection of at least one of the following domains: Civil works, Precast, Earthworks, Roadworks, Steelworks, Welding.
* A formal qualification in Civil Engineering and/or Inspection of Civils works, Precast, Earthworks, Roadworks, Steelworks, Welding (e.g. Bachelor or Master’s Degree, CSWIP).
* Either a CQI Member or working towards membership.
* Competent user of modern office computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Valid Driving Licence to drive in the UK.
