Events & Culture Lead
Full-time (37 hours per week, flexible evenings/weekends)
Salary: SCP 24–28 (£35,412 - £39,152 per annum) + attractive Local Government Pension Scheme

Harrogate is a town known for its heritage, green spaces and strong sense of community. We’re recruiting a dedicated Events & Culture Lead to shape and deliver civic and community events that reflect Harrogate’s identity and what residents value.
This is a formative role with the opportunity to build a coherent events programme for the Council, working closely with partners, community groups and cultural organisations. You’ll bring creativity, structure and strong project management to a developing area of work, ensuring events are safe, inclusive and well‑managed.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening relationships across Harrogate’s cultural landscape, enabling collaboration, supporting community‑led ideas and helping to deliver activity that feels distinctly Harrogate.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who can bring confidence, creativity and calm leadership to a varied and community‑focused role. You will have:
Proven experience designing and delivering public events.
Strong partnership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience managing budgets and preparing reports.
Understanding of safeguarding, EDI and Health & Safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and project‑management ability.
Proficiency with digital tools and social media.
IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to undertake) and DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo a check).
